Arthur C. Clarke Passed Away

The great man Arthur C. Clarke, the British science fiction author, science popularizer and futurist, died yesterday (19 March, 2008) at an age of 90.

He was born in Somerset, England on 16 December, 1917. He had been living in Sri Lanka for the last 50 years. He was best known for his novel 2001: A Space Odyssey. Among his numerous contributions to science and technology, the most notable is perhaps his proposal for satellite communication systems.

Here is a worth-viewing video of what he told on his 90th birthday last December.
