Jupiter, Venus and Moon in Spectacular Conjunction

Jupiter and Venus are now two bright objects in the evening sky. Look at the south-west sky after sunset and you will see Jupiter and Venus are beaming side by side. They are closing the gap every passing night. On 29th they will be only 3 degrees apart, a rare celestial show.

To complete the picture crescent moon will join the two planets on 30th Nov. The next day, 1st Dec, will be the best night of all. The three brightest object in the night sky will gather so tightly together you can hide them all behind your thumb held at arm's length.
